These 1-hour concerts open with American composer Adolphus Hailstork’s dazzling curtain-raiser, Celebration! Jingqi Zhu conducts Hailstork’s Amazing Grace fanfare as well as Ludwig van Beethoven’s dramatic overture to Egmont. This family-friendly program closes with Jake Endres and members of Hip-Hop, History and the Arts, instructed by Chadwick “Niles” Phillips, joining forces with the MSO and William Schrickel to perform Peter and the Timberwolf, a clever 21st century update (set in Minneapolis’ Loring Park!) of Sergei Prokofieff’s charming tale of a young boy’s resourcefulness and ingenuity.

Concerts are free; donations are requested to help offset our costs.
